It is free to use and it has cross platform compatibility being available both on mobile and desktop for people who do not have access to either one of them. Capcut has active members on the app and on Reddit and other platforms in order to provide feedback and help to people who cannot understand the interface.
Moreover, constant updates are being added into the cap interface in order to increase the fluidity and for the betterment of the app.
Cap cut is a great option since it is easy to use it has advanced features and is very flexible.
Moreover, it is a powerful tool that is used to help novices in this field such as myself. Since I did not know anything about editing and was pretty new.
A few video tutorials on YouTube, and cap cut's easy interference and easy pathway helped me advance my skill level and create a short film that I deeply cherish.

Then I created 2 drafts for my film choosing the 2 one since it was vastly better,

Here are some common codes and conventions of editing along with what I used,

In order to create my short film I created 2 drafts and decided to use the second one which was vastly better then the first one,

1. Jump Cut : The jump cut was used in order to show the fast paced progressions of our scenes it was used with a simple fade to black transition,

This here is the progression of my first 2 shots being merged,

moreover after creating the timeline and the positions for the shots I decided to move towards the Cutting which consisted of,

2. Fast Cutting and Cross-Cutting : Quick cuts between shots, often used to create a sense of energy or urgency and cross Cutting is Cutting between two or more different scenes or storylines this was done to create a non linear progression of the opening.

Shot Transitions used!

1. Fade In/Out : A gradual transition from black to a scene, or from a scene to black.

2. Cut: A sudden transition between two scenes.

Audio Conventions

1. Diegetic Sound: Sound that comes from within the scene, such as dialogue or sound effects, we used on spot music that was being played during the film to create a sense of sound, that resonates with the character.

2. Non-Diegetic Sound : Sound that comes from outside the scene, such as music or voiceovers, this was also used, In the cases of the music added as the person listens to it as therapy but most importantly and the one that was the most influential was the car crash sound which I exported from capcut and perfectly fit in with the scene for the effect of a car crash,

I then added the necessary text and it's components, this was the easiest part by far since it required little to no editing but a black screen and some good vocabulary,

The editing timeline I followed :

Basic Components and Timeline

I first filtered out the videos that were needed and then I deleted the ones that were not. Then I created a timeline on CapCut and I used the tracks and integrated them into the phone gallery.
These were the video tracks and the audio tracks. Then I put the clips that I wanted and I imported them into my project. These ones were not recorded by me. Such as the ones used in a black screen.
I then imported the recorded clips into the editing software. Furthermore I dragged and dropped them into position. I arranged them according to their positions that I used as reference from the story boarding.
I then zoom in and out of the timeline. Seeing what I could change and making it easier for myself since I was working on a mobile.
I then started editing cutting trimming and splitting the videos before adding transitions, markers and effects into the software.
Doing this slowly led to the progression of my film being made , which I then put through a slight brown filter to decrease the effect of low resolution and help with the overall quality of the film.

The brown filter and another filter that I used were for the extended effect, the other filter created a sharp contrast in lighting showing diversity and a change in setting for the viewer,

After I went through with this I exported everything to a friends laptop and then had it downloaded from there in order to not effect the quality of the film,

WHAT I LEARNED?

Editing has been the toughest aspect of my films since I'm not really accustomed with electronics and technology as well as my fellow peers.
So for this I decided to go with the safe route and learn as I went on. I used cap cut because it was beginner friendly. However, it was really unprofessional, which is why I've decided to go for a professional software next time and to use a laptop.
Furthermore, my A2 project will reflect my AS skills and will show how much I've improved in the editing aspect hopefully.
My video and my editing work was pretty tough but in the end it all worked out and I'm pretty proud of it. Everything was new but through the help of YouTube. I learned what the process is and through the AS course book I learned how to integrate different aspects of editing into a firm and not just go through with it as it came up.
